QUICK TIP

Since the arrival of Collections, docs.ansible.com is no longer an up to date source of documentation for the NetApp modules.  However, there is still an easy way to see the documentation, complete with examples, for the modules in a collection.

Ansible has a command called ‘ansible-doc’ that you can use to see the documentation of any module your Ansible installation is aware of.  To see collection-based modules, just use the full collection name.

`ansible-doc netapp.ontap.na_ontap_volume`

This will show you the na_ontap_volume module documentation from the NetApp ONTAP collection.  All modules in the collection can be accessed in this way.  For a list of all modules in the collection, you can look at the NetApp collection page on the Ansible Galaxy site at galaxy.ansible.com/netapp.  Select the collection you want to see the module list for and then click the Content button.

If you have any more questions you can get help and answers at our Slack channel #configurationmgmt in thePub workspace.  Get an invite at netapp.io/slack.
